Elizabeth Frayssee Guess Harleston, 99, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Francis Motte Harleston entered into eternal rest Monday, July 28, 2014. Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, August 2, 2014 in Saint James Church, 1872 Camp Road at 1:00 p.m. Interment, Saint James Churchyard. The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Stuhr's Downtown Chapel. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.
Elizabeth was born June 15, 1915 in Whitehall Plantation, South Carolina, daughter of Jackson Cauthen Guess and Caroline Frayssee Guess. She was a retired secretary at James Island High School. She was a lifelong member of Saint James Church, where she sang in the choir for 56 years. Mrs. Harleston was a member and former Regent of the D.A.R, Ft. Sullivan Chapter, a member of the Woman's Club, the Book Club, James Island Dance Club, and Riverland Terrace Garden Club.
She is survived by her daughters, Betty H. McInnis of Easley, SC, and Joan H. Ansel of Dallas, TX; grandsons, James Daniel McInnis, David Motte McInnis, Mark Langley McInnis, and William Legare Ansel; and eight great-grandchildren.
