Elizabeth "Betty" Taylor Evans, 76, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of John C. Evans entered into eternal rest Thursday, November 15, 2018. The family will receive friends Sunday, November 18, 2018 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Her Funeral Service will be held Monday, November 19, 2018 in St. John's Lutheran Church, 5 Clifford Street at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. Elizabeth was born December 5, 1941 in Columbia, South Carolina, daughter of Gladys Swygert Taylor and the late Lever Curren Taylor. Elizabeth was a graduate of the University of South Carolina. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and taught Sunday school for over 40 years. She was an active volunteer with Lutheran Social Services and other organizations.She is survived by her husband of 55 years, John C. Evans of Charleston, SC; mother, Gladys Taylor of Sandy Run, SC; daughter, Dana Evans of Charlotte, NC; two sons, Jack Evans (Kathryn) of Charleston, SC, Mark Evans (Chris Ann) of Springfield, VA; sister, Theresa Johnson of Charleston, SC; two brothers, Henry Taylor of West Columbia, SC, George Taylor of Sandy Run, SC; five grandchildren, Taylor, Savannah, Emily, Jonathan, Andrew.Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association SC Chapter, 2090 Executive Hall Road, Suite 130, Charleston, SC, 29407.
