Mrs. Elizabeth Denison Dixon, aged 84 years, of Charleston, SC and formerly of Greensboro, NC died at Bishop Gadsden Episcopal Retirement Community on June 12, 2023. Funeral services will be held at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church’s Chapel in Greensboro, NC on September 8, 2023 at 11am. Inurnment will be at the Church Columbarium. Arrangements are being made by Hanes-Lineberry.

Born in Roanoke, VA, Mrs. Dixon was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School (Raleigh, NC) and Hollins University (Roanoke, VA). She was also a graduate of The Realtor’s Institute of The University of North Carolina. She and her family moved to Greensboro in 1973, owned a residence at Kiawah Island, SC since 1981, and became a full-time resident of Kiawah Island in 2002. She was President of Accents Abroad, Ltd., a European import and home furnishings company formerly headquartered in High Point, NC and Presles, France. Active in the Greensboro community, she was a past member of the Board of Directors of the Greensboro Area Chamber of Commerce and Chairman and Founder of Greensboro Life. She was also a member of the Board of Directors of the Junior League of Greensboro, United Way of Greater Greensboro, Greensboro Historical Museum, Greensboro Day School, Voluntary Action Center of Greensboro, YWCA of Greensboro, and Hollins University Alumnae Association. She was the Past President of the Greensboro Preservation Society and the Greensboro Area Hollins Alumnae Club. In addition, she was a past member of the Leadership Greensboro Steering Committee and the John Motley Morehead Commission. She was a past member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church; The Greensboro Country Club; the Wednesday Afternoon Book Club; The Town Criers Club of Greensboro; The Kiawah Island Club; The Charleston Harbor Club; The Cosmos Club of Washington, DC; and the Denison Society of Mystic, CT. 

She was married for 50 years to the late Sewell Hinton Dixon, Jr., M.D. Surviving are daughters Woods DeLay Dixon and Kilby Dixon Hoskins, granddaughter Elizabeth Archer Hoskins and son-in-law Paolo Passaro all of Houston, TX.
