Entered into eternal rest on the morning of December 19, 2011, Elizabeth Felder Claypoole, widow of Jesse Stanley Claypoole, Jr. Residence, Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services Thursday, December 22, 2011at 10:30 AM in The Chapel at Bishop Gadsden. Interment, Cedar Grove Cemetery, in New Bern, NC at a later date.
Mrs. Claypoole was born January 21, 1922 in Charleston, SC, the daughter of Frederick Joseph Felder and Mae Lunden Felder. He was a graduate of The University of North Carolina and attended Duke University Medical School. She was a member of Immanuel Church-on-the-Hill in Alexandria, Virginia and the National Society of Colonial Dames in the state of North Carolina. Betty married a Naval officer and traveled the world. Her passion was traveling. She was high- spirited, lived life large and loved everyone around her. She was a wonderful mother and is missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by one daughter: Elizabeth Claypoole Holland of Charleston, SC; two sons:
J Stanley Claypoole, III (Barbara) of Charleston, SC and Richard Bryan Claypoole of San Antonio, TX; two sisters: Nancy F. Attaway of Charleston, SC and Harriet F. McElveen of Columbia, SC; two grandchildren: Jay S. Claypoole ( Danica) and Pringle Claypoole Jackson (Kenlind); three great grandchildren: Lilly and Jesse Claypoole and Alden Jackson.
