Elizabeth Ward Claiborne

Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of May 30, 2012, Elizabeth Ward Claiborne of Charleston, SC, widow of Nelson Lee Claiborne, Jr. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service to celebrate her life Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in The Chapel at Bishop Gadsden. The family will receive friends following the service in the Myers Hall Library at Bishop Gadsden. The burial will be private.

Mrs. Claiborne was born February 18, 1924, in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of William Robert Ward and Elizabeth Davis Ward. She was a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Charleston, SC. She was loved by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many friends.

She is survived by two daughters: Happy C. Faust (Bob) of Charleston, SC and Elizabeth C. Allen of Ponte Vedra, FL; four grandchildren: Courtney F. Buxton (Mills), Catherine C. Faust, Katie E. Allen, and William C. Allen; two great grandchildren: Blake Buxton and Clay Buxton. She was predeceased by her daughter, Lisa Michaels.
