Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of February 25, 2011, Elizabeth Jeane Collins Brinson, widow of Harold M. Brinson. Residence, Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends are invited to attend her cryptside funeral services in Holy Cross Cemetery Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL Monday between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m.
Mrs. Brinson was born June 8, 1933 in Hopewell, Virginia, a daughter of the late Lee Roy Collins and the late Essie Marie Ewell Collins. She was a retired receptionist for The Canterbury House. Jeane worked for many years in Charleston restaurant businesses; Frosty Manor, Francis Marion Hotel and Ft. Sumter Hotel and was the former operator of the Sandbar Restaurant on Folly Beach. She also worked as a dietary assistant at Roper Hospital for many years.
She is survived by two daughters, Gail B. Stripling and husband, Robert; Kelly B. Crews and husband, Robert, both of James Island; a son, Harold M. "BoBo" Brinson, Jr. and wife, Sonya, of James Island; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Sherrill B. Simmons.
