Elizabeth "Betty" Hamilton Stringfellow, 95, of Johns Island, South Carolina, widow of William Stringfellow entered into eternal rest Thursday, May 18, 2017. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 24, 2017 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Her Funeral Service will be held Thursday, May 25, 2017 in Church of Our Saviour, 4416 Betsy Kerrison Parkway at 4:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Church of Our Saviour Churchyard.
Betty was born November 14, 1921 on Johns Island, South Carolina, daughter of the late William M. Hamilton and Marie Andell Hamilton. She was a retired teacher & author.
She is survived by her daughter, Laura Stringfellow-Wilson (Stephen) of Libertyville, IL; two grandchildren, Benjamin William Wilson, and Emily Elizabeth Wilson.
There would have been one less Habitat house if Betty Stringfellow had not lived. Habitat for Humanity was one of her favorite charities, beloved sponsors of the program Eugene and Prudence Yost friends of Betty.
