Elizabeth Buford DuBose Baskin, 91, of Summerville, SC, widow of Thomas Croswell Baskin, died Thursday, February 12, 2015. Her funeral service will be held Monday, February 16, 2015 in the Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1157 Sam Rittenberg Boulevard at 1:00 pm. The family will receive friends Monday one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment, Beaufort National Cemetery Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at 1:00 pm. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel.
Buford was born March 25, 1923 in Sumter County, SC, daughter of the late Theodore Scott DuBose and the late Dora Colclough Richardson DuBose. She graduated from Coker College in Hartsville, SC and served with the WAVES during WWII. As a charter member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, later Westminster Presbyterian Church, she was involved in many church activities including serving as a deacon and teaching kindergarten. Buford was an avid bridge player.
She is survived by her children: Thomas C. Baskin, Jr., (Jane) of Marietta, GA, Beverly D. Baskin of Raleigh, NC, Barry R. Baskin (Debbie) of Charleston, SC and Barbara Baskin Kennington (Scott) of Greensboro, NC; brother, Edward Macdonald DuBose of Sumter, SC; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
