Elizabeth Crow Allen

Elizabeth Crow Allen, 94, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Frank C. Allen entered into eternal rest Tuesday, March 7, 2017. Her funeral service will be held at the graveside Friday, March 10, 2017 in Holy Cross Cemetery, 604 Fort Johnson Road at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.

Elizabeth was born November 8, 1922 in Spartanburg, South Carolina, daughter of the late Eugene Ryan Crow and Clara Burton Crow. Listed in Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities, she graduated from Converse College in 1942. She moved to Dallas, Texas in 1951 and taught school as a teacher rated "superior" by the Dallas Independent School District. Elizabeth loved travel and lived in Brussels, Belgium from 1973-1976. Returning to South Carolina in 1994, she settled on James Island and became a member of Harborview Presbyterian Church.

Elizabeth is survived by her sons: Ryan Allen (Stephanie) of Charleston, SC and Thomas B. Allen (Harriet) of Charleston, SC; two grandchildren: Sean T. Allen and Elizabeth L. Allen; and two great-granddaughters: Rebecca T. Allen and Audra C. Allen.
