Betty Lou McKnight Aimar, 87, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of the late Lucas Boinest Aimar entered into eternal rest Tuesday, September 1, 2015. Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, September 5, 2015 in the Second Presbyterian Church, 342 Meeting Street, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday, September 4, 2015 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Betty Lou was born October 28, 1927 in Marion, SC, to William Kinder McKnight and Anna Mabel Smith McKnight. She served as a Girl Scout and Brownie leader in her youth and always honored her commitments. She was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church, where she taught kindergarten Sunday School for over 50 years. "Miss Betty" could always be counted on for her contagious smile and passing out gummy bears to the children. She also served as a charter member of the Presbyterian Educational Society and was an active member of the Presbyterian Women, where she was a recipient of the Presbyterian Women's "Lifetime Membership Award."
She is survived by her two daughters, Betsy Lee Brown Maltby (Terry) of Denver, CO, and Cathy Oyer (Cal) of Mount Pleasant, SC, three grandchildren, Lindsey Lee Brown Nicoletti (Phil) of Denver, CO, Jason Ryan Brown of Phoenix, AZ, Kalyn Aimar Oyer of Mt. Pleasant, SC, two great-grandsons, Anthony John Nicoletti, and Maddox Ryan Brown; sister, Mary Lois McKnight of Charleston, SC. Betty Lou was predeceased by a daughter Luci Boinest Aimar; two brothers Billy McKnight, Mac McKnight and a sister Dottie M. Russell.
