Elise Nettles Cumbee, 90, of Johns Island, South Carolina, widow of John Edward Cumbee entered into eternal rest Sunday, March 5, 2017. Her Funeral Service will be held Thursday March 9, 2017 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 10:30 a.m. The family will receive friends in Stuhr's from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park.

Elise was born March 11, 1926 in Walterboro, South Carolina, daughter of the late Joseph Henry Nettles and Daisy LeMacks Nettles.

She is survived by her son, Pete Cumbee (Nancy) of Salem, SC; two daughters, Betty Ann Abbott (Bill) of Johns Island, SC, Jean Puckett (Ollie) of Johns Island, SC; daughter-in-law, Opal Cumbee of Johns Island, SC; sister, Virginia Garvin of Johns Island, SC; nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Marie Cumbee, son, Bubba Cumbee, and grandson, John Abbott.
