Elise Ready Badger

Elise Ready Badger, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Judson Ready, wife of the late Alston Calhoun Badger, entered into eternal rest on May 3, 2011. 

The relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services in St. James Episcopal Church, Saturday, May 7, 2011at 11:00 am.  Interment, Churchyard.  Visitation will be at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL Friday, between 5:00 and 7:00 pm.

Mrs. Badger was born April 15, 1926, in Columbia, SC.  She was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and retired after 35 years of teaching from the Charleston County School District. She was an active member of St. James Episcopal Church where she served on the Altar Guild, the Vestry, and was a member St. Martha's Chapter and the church choir. Mrs. Badger served as Treasurer of St. James Episcopal Church as well as Treasurer of ECW Diocese of South Carolina.

She is the beloved mother of Rett Badger Fitts (Ronnie) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Deedie Badger Daniel (Bill) of Dillon, SC, Betsy Badger Langdon (Mark) of Blythewood, SC, Mary Adele Cartwright (Mark)of Johns Island, SC, Amy Badger of Edisto Island, SC, Sally Badger Jarvis (Tim) of Hollywood, SC and Alston Calhoun Badger, Jr. (Mimi) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; grandmother of  Maggie Fitts, the late Reese Fitts, Christian Wolfe (Marie), Haywood Wolfe, Shipp Daniel, Anna Daniel McLaurin (Will), Emily Langdon, Catie Langdon, Alston Langdon Knaus (Brad), Ben Langdon, Tracy Badger, Alston Badger III and McKain Badger; great-grandmother of Jackson Wolfe and Ruthie Wolfe.  She is the much loved sister of Margaret Ready Corry of Bennettsville, SC and Ann Ready Smith of Columbia, SC.
