Eleanor C. Sullivan, 91, of Goose Creek, SC, the widow of Robert W. Sullivan passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017 in the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Charlie Coker. Her funeral service will be held Thursday, April 27, 2017 in the Doorway Baptist Church, 7825 Dorchester Road at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road.
Mrs. Sullivan was born in Ravenel, SC, the eldest daughter of the late Arthur H. and Lois N. Carroll. She lived in various areas of the lowcountry while growing up but spent most of her teen years in the city of Charleston, graduating from Meminger High School. In her young married years she was employed by Southern Bell and later by Sears Roebuck and Company in the first store in Charleston.Mrs. Sullivan was a member of Dorchester Waylyn Baptist Church and active in many ministries of the church. She was a member of Doorway Baptist Church at the time of her death and had been involved in many activities until her health no longer allowed her to attend services and activities. Mrs. Sullivan participated in PTA during her children's school years and was a homemaker.
Mrs. Sullivan is survived by her sister Merilyn Horres of Aiken, SC; daughters, Linda S. Coker (Charlie) of Goose Creek and Robin S. Krofta (Terry) of North Charleston; seven grandchildren: Andrew Coker of Englewood, TN, Malissa C. Singletary (David) of Goose Creek, SC, Kimberly S. Bailey of Goose Creek, SC, Kristopher Riley Statham of San Francisco, CA, Matthew Krofta (Dezzaray) of North Charleston, SC, Benjamin Middleton (Sarah) and Robert Middleton (Meghan) of Arnold, MO. Also surviving Mrs. Sullivan are 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Gretta Middleton.
