Eleanor Rugheimer Pearce

Eleanor Rugheimer Pearce, 90, of Charleston, SC, widow of Hugo A. Pearce, Jr., passed away October 18, 2012. Her Funeral Service will be held in St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 405 King Street, Monday, October 22, 2012 at 11:00a.m. Interment, Bethany Cemetery. The family will receive friends in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL Sunday between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m.

Mrs. Pearce was born September 18, 1922 in Charleston, SC, the daughter of William A. Rugheimer and Annie Boesch Rugheimer. She graduated from Memminger High School and from Winthrop College with a Bachelor of Science Degree. Mrs. Pearce was a lifelong member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir and enjoyed many hours working in the church archives. She retired from Croghans Jewel Box.

She is survived by two sons: Hap Pearce (Janice) of Charlotte, NC and W. Gregory Pearce (Janice) of Charleston, SC; two daughters: Linda P. Edwards (Michael) of Columbia, SC and Wendy P. Thrailkill (Steve) of Greenville, SC; six grandchildren: Crissy P. Garison (Sean) of Charlotte, NC, Jennifer P. Anthony (Rob) of Asheville, NC, Kevin Pearce (Lisa) of Boone, NC, Eleanor Thrailkill of Greenville, SC, Pearce Thrailkill of Greenville, SC and Will Pearce of Charleston, SC; and six great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 405 King Street, Charleston, SC 29403 or to Lutheran Hospice, 3870 Leeds Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29405.
