Eleanor "Mimi" Cameron Luden, 89, of Charleston, SC, passed peacefully into eternal rest Thursday, September 25, 2014 at the Hospice Center of Charleston. Her Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 29, 2014, in St. John's Lutheran Church, 5 Clifford Street. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL.
Mrs. Luden was born July 10, 1925 in Brookline, MA, daughter of Clarence Codman Cameron and Eleanor Wilson Cameron. She was predeceased, in 2009, by her husband of 62 years, Alvin Henry "Buddy" Luden, Jr. Mrs. Luden graduated from Hyde Park High School in 1943. She was a gifted singer and after graduation sang all over the Boston area during World War II, including on the radio and for the Army and USO where she met Buddy. After their marriage in 1946, Mrs. Luden moved to Charleston where she became a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Mrs. Luden retired from SC National Bank in 1991 with 25 years of service.
Always the loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she was devoted to her family. Mrs. Luden is survived by her daughter, Sharon Kreidler and husband, Bruce; son, Wayne Luden and wife, Leslie; son, Richard Luden and wife, Norma; grandchildren: Lindsay Welch (Justin), Grayson Kreidler (Amy), Meredith Luden, Lauren Richardson (Billy) and Cameron Luden (Lee); and seven great-grandchildren.
