Eleanor May Bombard Jacobs

June 22, 1911 — May 22, 2011

Entered into eternal rest on the morning of May 22, 2011, Eleanor May Bombard Jacobs, wife of the late Howland Delos Jacobs.  Residence, Charleston, South Carolina.  The relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10:30 am.  Prayers of Final Commendation will follow at 2 pm at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Columbia, SC.  The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL this Tuesday afternoon from 5 until 7 pm with a Rosary Service at 6 pm.


Mrs. Jacobs was born June 22, 1911 in Fort Edward, New York, daughter of the late Vorce and Eda Gaulin Bombard.  She was a retired Secretary with the Greenwich County School District and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.


Surviving are a daughter, Shirley Watts of Charleston; two sons, Robert L. Jacobs of Fullerton, CA, Edwin C. Jacobs of Akron, OH; eight grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
