Eleanor E. Cross

June 10, 1926 — November 10, 2016

Eleanor E. Cross, 90, formerly of Triangle, NY passed away on November 10, 2016, after a short heart related illness. A graveside service will be scheduled at a later date in Kattelville Cemetery, Binghamton, New York. Arrangements by Root Funeral Home of Greene, NY and J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel, Charleston, SC.

Eleanor graduated from Whitney Point High School at age 15 and held several secretarial positions through the years. On July 27, 1946 Eleanor and Richard were married and had a long, loving relationship of 70 years. Together they traveled the United States and Europe for more than a decade. She retired from Dr. Donald Murray's dental office in 1986. She loved her computer and spent many hours a day sending and receiving pictures and emails with friends and family.

She dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Not only did she appear younger than age 90, her mind was remarkably clear and witty. Eleanor was loved by all and touched everyone's heart. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Richard; daughter, Donna Seymour (Mark); son Thomas (Jackie); two grandsons,Thomas J. Cross (Amber), Justin Seymour (Becky); two granddaughters, Jaimie Ciabarra (Mario), Jill Giera (Mark); five great-grandchildren, Tessa, Cody, Ella Ciabarra, and Camryn and Avery Giera; brother-in-law William Cross (Kay) of Tucson, Arizona; several nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was predeceased by her parents, Judson & Maree Bush, 8 siblings, and several nieces and nephews.

We would like to thank the staff at Coastal Cardiology, Roper Hospital and Roper St. Francis, where she received excellent care.

To celebrate her life, the immediate family gathered in Charleston, South Carolina where Eleanor and Richard have resided for almost two years.
