Elaine Friedman Heckelman, 90, of Passaic, New Jersey, widow of Joseph Heckelman, entered into eternal rest Friday, January 5, 2024. Her graveside service will be held Sunday, January 7, 2024 in Kahal Kadosh Beth Elohim Cemetery, Huguenin Avenue at 1:00 pm. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.

Elaine was born May 2, 1933 in Newark, New Jersey, daughter of Solomon  Friedman and Bella Zemelman Friedman.  She was an Elementary School Teacher for 33 years in Maryland. Elaine and her husband retired to Charleston, SC in 1991. They were active members and enjoyed being docents at KKBE. 

She is survived by her daughter, Leah Lisa (Kevin) Marcus; son, Jay Heckelman; brother, Leonard Friedman; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.
