Edythe Howley Lileck, 93, of James Island, South Carolina, wife of Joseph Lileck, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, August 29, 2023. Her Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2023 in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends Monday, September 4, 2023 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel. Interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, 604 Fort Johnson Rd, Charleston, SC 29412.
Edythe was born October 11, 1929 in Chester, Pennsylvania, daughter of Andrew William Howley and Mildred White Howley. She was a retired telephone operator at Bell Telephone of Pennsylvania, as well as being a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
She is survived by two daughters, JoAnn L. Dixon (Lee Roy), Michelle L. Adams; Son, Joseph Patrick (Kacey); Nine grandchildren, Melisa Anne Cheshier, Jessica Lynn Connelly (Jason), Charles Joseph Dixon, Melanie Dawn Lafazia, Katrina Marie Potter, Merritt Jean Pierce (Mark), Michael Joseph Dixon (Penny), Matthew Clinton Dixon (Melanie), Melissa Maureen Gallego (Alan); 24 Great Grandchildren; 13 Great-Great Grandchildren; as well as several loved nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Joseph Lileck; and her sisters Anna Greenhalgh; Patricia Hefferman.
Memorials may be made to Charleston Animal Society and/or St. Jude Hospital.
