Edward "Ted" Andrew Alfred Tombs, 73, of Johns Island, South Carolina, husband of Laura Cavender Tombs entered into eternal rest Wednesday, April 26, 2023. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.

Ted was born September 11, 1949 in Edmonton, Canada, son of the late Edward Charles Tombs and Bernice Gauley Tombs. He was a graduate of Amherst College and attended graduate school at Syracuse University. Ted spent his formative years building his character through his education and hockey career that took him to the U.S. and Italy. He later used his entrepreneur spirit and business acumen to carve out a reputable career path that spanned the world. The true joy in his successes came from the opportunity to meet new people and experience new cultures.

In his recent years, Ted relished spending time with his children and grandchildren, forever instilling the traits of hard work and kindness. An avid planner, he continued traveling the world with his wife and their lifelong friends.

Edward is survived by his wife of 27 years, Laura; six children: Andrew "Drew" Tombs (Blakely) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Tory Tombs of Mesa, AZ, Devin Tombs (Alex) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; Cate Tombs of Oakland, CA, Lauren LeMoine of Charleston, SC and Callie LeMoine Roberson (Justin) of Summerville, SC; brother, Terry Tombs (Sandra) of Alliston, Canada; sister, Susan Kavelman of Amherstburg, Canada; eight grandchildren: Trenton Tombs (Gabi), Kayden Madysen, Maryn Tombs, Molly Tombs, Lyla Roberson, Grady Roberson, Everett Tombs, and Wallace Tombs; and one great-grandson, Levi Tombs.
