Edward "Ted" Harleston Daniell, 73, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on the morning of Friday, October 27, 2017. His Funeral Service will be held Saturday, November 4, 2017 in Grace Church Cathedral, 98 Wentworth Street at 10:00 a.m. followed by Interment in Strawberry Chapel Yard, Berkeley County. The family will receive friends Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, 232 Calhoun Street.
Ted was born May 8, 1944 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late Ernest Roy Daniell and the late Elizabeth Harleston Daniell. Mr. Daniell was a Certified Public Accountant practicing in Charleston for more than 40 years. He attended Porter Military Academy, Charleston High School, and the University of South Carolina. Mr. Daniell was a member of the Charleston Estate Planning Council, the South Carolina Association of CPAs, and former president of the Coastal Chapter of CPAs. He was also a member, vestryman, and former treasurer of St. John's Parish Berkeley (Strawberry Chapel), as well as a member of The First Families of South Carolina, The Carolina Yacht Club, the St. Andrew's Society, the Charleston Ancient Artillery Society, the Huguenot Society, and the South Carolina Society where he served as treasurer for more than 35 years. Mr. Daniell was a direct descendent of Robert Daniell, Landgrave and colonial Governor of South Carolina. He was also a descendent of more than 30 crown heads of Europe including Edward III, William the Conqueror, and Charlemagne.
In addition to his wife of 34 years, Anne, he is survived by his son, Edward "Ned" H. Daniell, Jr. of Charleston, SC; and sister, Mary D. Stanford of Silver Spring, MD.
