Edward William Silverman, 84, of Summerville, South Carolina, husband of Madalyn Jackson Silverman entered into eternal rest Wednesday, March 4, 2026. His memorial service will be held Sunday, March 15, 2026 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Ed was born April 1, 1941 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son of the late David Silverman and the late Doris Goldstein Silverman. He took pride in being a part of the United States Navy, a chapter of his life that exemplified his dedication to his country and shaped his character. Following his military service, Ed pursued higher education at the University of Delaware, where he further cultivated his intellect and love for learning and graduated with a degree in agriculture. A life of movement saw Ed reside in several vibrant cities, including Houston, Miami, and Summerville, South Carolina. Each location contributed to the tapestry of his life, offering new experiences and friendships that he cherished deeply. He was a successful produce broker for many years, enjoyed working in insurance sales and was very business savvy. His hobbies included being a handyman and wood working. Those who knew him can attest to his adventurous spirit, love of travel, often calling him a true cruising enthusiast, always eager to discover new horizons. He was always ready with a smile, a bit mischievous, appreciated life and good food. Among his great hobbies was the intricate construction of LEGOs, which allowed him to express his imagination and innovate in ways that delighted both young and old. In addition, he found great joy in building model planes and rockets, engaging in a pastime that not only satisfied his creative impulses but also fed his fascination with flight and exploration.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Karen Arnstein (Aaron) and Suzanne Allen (Howard); son, Jeffrey Silverman (Janet); grandchildren: Alexander Arnstein, Ethan Silverman, and Avery, Tori and Jonah Allen; sister, Marlene Schurr; nephews: Robert, Kenneth, Richard and Ronald Schurr and close friend, Gwyn Franklin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Larry and Mark Silverman and brother-in-law, Arnold Schurr.

Ed is remembered not just for his accomplishments but for the warmth and kindness he offered to friends and family alike. His legacy will continue through the memories he created and the lives he touched. Edward Silverman will be dearly missed by all who knew him, leaving behind a world that is dimmer without his bright spirit.
