Edward Bruce Rourk, Sr., Radioman 3rd Class USN Ret., 85, of James Island, SC, passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2012. The relatives and friends of Edward Bruce Rourk, Sr. are invited to attend his graveside memorial service at Beaufort National Cemetery, with military honors on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR NORTHWOODS CHAPEL. The family will greet friends following the service. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
Mr. Rourk was born September 25, 1926, in Charleston, SC, the son of the late Thomas Tolsen Rourk and Augusta Elizabeth Walling Rourk. He was a Radioman 1st Class, having served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Masonic Lodge, 40 & 8 of the American Legion, Scottish Rite, Disabled American Veterans, and Seacoast Church on James Island.
Surviving are his children: Shari P. Clark and her husband, Randy of Charleston, SC, Edward Bruce Rourk, Jr. and his wife, Renee of Charleston, SC, James M. Rourk and his wife, Bobby Jean of Moncks Corner, SC and Audra M. Rourk of Charleston, SC; seven grandchildren: Jimmy, Shannon, Brandy, Amanda, Trenton, Clint and Noah; 7 Great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Salisbury of Charleston, SC and Dorothy Hurst of Mt. Pleasant, SC.
