Edward Earl Rhodes, Jr., 71, of Summerville, SC, husband of Linda Gail Christopher Rhodes entered into eternal rest Sunday, December 16, 2012. A memorial service will be held Thursday, December 20, 2012, in Deliverance Tabernacle Ministries, 3190 West 5th North St., Summerville, at 7:00 pm. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL.
Mr. Rhodes was born April 20, 1941 in Charleston, South Carolina, one of five children of the late Edward Earl Rhodes and the late Dorothy Mae Pittman Rhodes. Ed was active at Deliverance Tabernacle Ministries where he worked in the sound booth. He was a veteran of the US Air Force. He was a retired electronics technician. Ed was an avid fisherman, loved vegetable gardening and dearly loved his family and church.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years; daughter, Deborah Lynne Kelcy (Charles) of Ridgeville; son, Richard Allen Rhodes (Terry) of Berea, KY; daughter, Jennifer Marie Miller (Rev. Timothy) of Summerville; five grandchildren, David Allen Lennex, Cole French, Wesley Alexander Rhodes, Owen Richard Rhodes and Deanna Lynne Miller; three sisters, Dorothy Lindsay of Charleston, Judy Murphy of Nacogdoches, TX and Cheryl Ann Chavis (Larry) of North Charleston; and brother, Gerald Ray Rhodes of Florida.
