Edward John Reardon, Jr., 76, of Seabrook Island, South Carolina, husband of Marilyn Ann Manne McCollum Reardon and widower of Yvonne Mary Weasler Reardon entered into eternal rest Tuesday, April 14, 2015. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, April 25, 2015, in Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 3871 Betsy Kerrison Parkway at 10:00 a.m. There will be a reception following the service at the Seabrook Island Club, Carolina Room, 3772 Seabrook Island Road. Interment will be private. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR INC., 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, Charleston, SC.
Edward was born March 20, 1939 in Waukegan, Illinois, son of the late Edward John Reardon and the late Isabel Haarbauer Reardon. He was a graduate of Xavier University and did his graduate studies at Marguette University. After serving his country in the Armed Forces, he was honorably discharged and began his life's work in Human Resources. He first worked as the Personnel Director at Trinity Memorial Hospital in Cudahy, WI. He then spent the remainder of his career as the Vice President of Human Resources at Saint Joseph Hospital in Kirkwood, MO. Upon retirement, he moved to Seabrook Island where he was a member of Kiawah Seabrook Exchange Club, served on the Board of Our Lady of Mercy Outreach, was an active member of the Charleston Area Model Railroad Club and was an involved member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He was a Loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Ann Reardon of Seabrook Island, SC; four children, Laura Reardon of Overland Park, KS, Maureen Harden of Louisville, KY, Hope Reardon of Charleston, SC, and Edward J. Reardon, III of Cincinnati, OH; two-step-sons, Scott McCollum of Nagoya, Japan, and Chris McCollum of Austin, TX; eight grandchildren, Ebony Reardon, Drew Harden, Jack Harden, Eliza Harden, Edward Reardon, IV., Rachel Reardon, Lori Beth Reardon and Alex Reardon. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Antoinette Elizabeth "Toni" Reardon.
