Edward Nelson

Entered into eternal rest on the morning of March 15, 2011, Edward Nelson, Jr., husband of Irma Mitchell Nelson.  Residence, Charleston, South Carolina.  The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Nelson are invited to attend the funeral services of the former Saturday, March 19, 2011, at 11 am, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church.  Committal Services will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL Friday afternoon from 5 until 7 pm.

Mr. Nelson was born in Charleston, South Carolina on November 1, 1928, the son of the late Edward and Florence Washington Nelson.  He was a United States Army veteran and was a retired Respiratory Therapist with Cumberland Hospital, Brooklyn New York.  He was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church.

Surviving are his wife Irma Nelson of Charleston; two sons, Kenneth Edward Nelson and his wife Carmen of Atlanta, GA and Ricardo Edward Nelson of Charleston; and three sisters, Lucretia Polo and Delores Morrison both of Bronx, NY, and Peggy Stukes of New Jersey.

Memorials may be made in memory of Edward Nelson to Saint Mark's Episcopal Church, 18 Thomas Street, Charleston, SC  29403.
