Edward Thurston "Tut" Morgan, Jr., 75, of Hanahan, South Carolina, husband of 42 years to the late Hazel Burton Morgan entered into eternal rest Friday, June 23, 2017. His Funeral Service will be held Sunday, June 25, 2017 in Ashley River Baptist Church, 1101 Savannah Hwy, at 3:00 p.m. The family will receive friends in the church from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. Entombment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL.
Edward was born July 13, 1941 in Orangeburg County in the town of Springfield, SC, he was a son of the late Edward Thurston Morgan and Elsie Maroney Morgan Odom. He graduated from Clemson University in 1963 and was an electrical engineer for the Charleston Naval Shipyard. Edward served his Lord faithfully at Ashley River Baptist Church, volunteering in the cafeteria at Palmetto Christian Academy, and leading Bible Study at Lieber Correctional Institution. He loved treating his adoring family with annual trips to Disney World.
He is survived by his two daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren: Kelly Morgan Epting and Joseph M. Epting, Jr., of Irmo, SC; three grandchildren, Katherine Anne, John Kenneth, and Benjamin Morgan. Amy Morgan Walters and David Moore Walters, Jr., of Daniel Island, SC; three grandchildren, Emily Anne, Mitchell Robert Jones, and Morgan Michael; sister, Jane Amelia Rowell of Denmark, SC; He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Timothy Morgan of Charleston, SC.
