Edward Peter Ix, Jr., 82, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, died Friday, April 8, 2016. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, April 12, 2016 in St. Benedict Catholic Church, 950 Darrell Creek Trail at 11:00 a.m. Committal will be private. The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.

Ed was born June 10, 1933 in Jersey City, New Jersey, son of the late Edward Peter Ix, Sr. and the late Rosemary McMahon Ix. He was a Wall Street security analyst. Ed was also an Oblate of the Order of St. Benedict professed at St. Benedict Monastery in Bristow, VA.

He is survived by four children, Maggie (Arthur) Rudolph of Charleston, SC, Elizabeth Phillips of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Victoria (Gosia) Ix of Florence, MA, Andrew (Stacey) Ix of Mt. Pleasant, SC; as well as seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia Hubner Ix, and a son, Edward Peter Ix III.
