MCPO Edward Arnold Huff, USCG, (Ret.) 84, of Ellijay, Georgia, former longtime resident of Mt. Pleasant and husband of Bertha Louise Huff entered into eternal rest Wednesday, March 6, 2019. His funeral service will be held Sunday, March 10, 2019 in Sullivan's Island Baptist Church, 1753 Central Avenue at 2:00 pm. Interment with military honors will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.
Born February 5, 1935 in Monroe, Georgia, Ed was the son of the late Arnold D. Huff and Della Sorrells Huff. He grew up in Social Circle, Georgia. He received his associates degree from Nielson Electronics Institute and retired as Master Chief in the US Coast Guard where he served for 20 years. Ed was the owner of Protronics TV and a Hall of Fame Member for the Lowcountry Sr. Softball Association. He was a member of Sullivan's Island Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and a member of The Gideons.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Louise of Ellijay, GA; daughter, Sherrill Lynn Huff-Kirkland, (Larry) of Ellijay, GA; daughter-in-law, Vicki Kochins Huff of Mt. Pleasant, SC; sister, Linda Lee of St. Mary's, GA; brother, Melvin Huff of Sharpsburg, GA; two grandsons, Martin Huff of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Mitchell Huff, (Cristina ) of Houston, TX; granddaughter, Dana Murray (Brent) of Charleston, SC; two great-grandchildren, Marie Louise Huff and Wheeler Michael Murray.He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Derek Alan Huff and siblings, Felton Huff and Joan Hewell.
