Edward Middleton Guerry

Edward Middleton Guerry, Jr., 86, passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at home. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 1, 2018 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., NORTH AREA CHAPEL, 2119 Dorchester Road from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. His Funeral Service will be held Friday, February 2, 2018 in Advent Lutheran Church, 3347 Rivers Avenue at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park.

Edward was born September 3, 1931 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late Edward M. Guerry, Sr. and Mary Caison Guerry. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force, retired from civil service at Navelex. Edward owned Ed's Hardware in Bonneau, SC which he and his wife operated for many years. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family, especially at the lake house he built for them in Bonneau. Edward was a member of Advent Lutheran Church in North Charleston.

He is survived by his sister, Barbara G. Beach, brother-in-laws, William G. Mitchum (Anita) and Jerry Lynn Jones, his four children Linda G. Edwards, Laron G. Stone (Donald), Edward K. Guerry (Debra), and Guy Mitchum Guerry (Tracey); five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and his well-loved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Geraldine Mitchum Guerry and his sister Rosemary G. Jones.
