Calvin Colkitt, 72 of Ladson, South Carolina, husband of Wendy Rasalana Colkitt entered into eternal rest Wednesday September 20, 2023. His Memorial Service will be held Friday, September 29, 2023 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road at 4:00 p.m. The family will receive friends in the Northwoods Chapel from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service.
Calvin was born November 15, 1950, in Plymouth, Devon, England, son of the late Edward Junior Colkitt and Jean Pearce Colkitt. He spent his adolescent years in the United States and returned to Great Britain after High School to pursue his musical ambitions. Calvin met and married the love of his life, Wendy in the UK and they returned to the United States in 1995. He continued to pursue his lifelong love of music and also started a career in retail with Sears, where he worked his way into management and eventually retired. Calvin produced and recorded his own music, enjoyed teaching music to anyone that shared his love of music, enjoyed coin collecting, and was an avid photographer.
He is survived by his wife, Wendy; his siblings: Dean Colkitt (Pamela) of Goose Creek, SC, Jeanette Elrod (Max) of Goose Creek, SC, Gregory Colkitt (Debbie) of Kodak, TN, Kimberley Ackerman (Rich) of North Charleston, SC, and Todd Colkitt of Goose Creek, SC; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews in the United States and Great Britain.
Flower will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060.
