Edna Banks Haverty, 92, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of the late William B. Haverty entered into eternal rest Tuesday, November 9, 2021. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, November 12th at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Wilmington, NC at 3:30 pm. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel.
Edna was born December 19, 1928 in Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late William Banks and the late Carrie Ervin Banks. Edna was an educator for many years and a longtime resident of Wilmington, North Carolina. She was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church. When her beloved husband, Bill, retired they traveled extensively.
She is survived by her two daughters, Terri Haverty Nichols and her husband Carl Peters Nichols of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Traci Haverty Fleming of South Pasadena, CA; three grandchildren, Carl "Trey" Nichols III of Mt. Pleasant, Piper Fleming, and William Mason Fleming both of South Pasadena; and special niece, Sherri Morrow of Charlotte, NC. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Helen Banks, Margaret Banks Williams (Johnny), William Banks (LaRue), Robert Banks (Lois), John Banks (Grace), Ervin Banks (Carolyn), Edward Banks (Verna), and George Banks (Jane).
