Edith "Libby" Kahrs Schwacke

Edith "Libby" Kahrs Schwacke , 95, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Augustus H. Schwacke, Jr., entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 13, 2017. Her Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, March 15, 2017 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends in Stuhr's Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens

Libby was born September 21, 1921 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late John Kahrs and Clara Warren Kahrs. She was a past President and charter member of D.O.E.S (BPOE). Libby was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and friend. Libby married the love of her life, Herman in June of 1942 in Charleston and they had 45 wonderful years together until his passing in 1987.

She is survived by her three sons, A.H. Schwacke, III, (Pamela) of Mount Pleasant, SC, Richard Schwacke (Shelley) of Charleston, SC, and Edward Warren Schwacke (Margie) of Forrest City, AR; nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, James Henry Schwacke.
