Edith L. Johnson, 97, a former longtime resident of Tigard, OR, widow of Conrad A. Johnson, died Saturday, December 11, 2010, in a hospital in North Charleston, SC.
Born November 7, 1913 in Shiocton, WI she was one of six children of James R. Thornton and Emma Puls Thornton. She was a teacher in the public school system. Mrs. Johnson enjoyed oil painting and gardening.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her niece and nephews: Gary Knapp of Shiocton, WI, Marcia Shannon of North Charleston, SC, Rodney Solem of Greenville, WI, James Solem of Black Creek, WI and Robert Paul of Bear Creek, WI; and many grandnieces and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters: James "Bud" Thornton, Helen Thornton Solem, Carmen Thornton Paul, Grace Thornton Goddell and John Thornton.
A private memorial service was held. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, North Charleston, SC.
