Edith R. Johnson

Edith R. Johnson, 94, entered into eternal rest and was reunited with loved ones on Friday, August 12, 2011.  Funeral services will be held at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at 11am.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.  

Mrs. Johnson was the widow of the late Charlie W. Johnson. She was born in Hampton County, SC on November 20, 1916 to Aaron and Annie Thomas Rentz. She was a member of Wando Woods Baptist Church.

Surviving are her children: Charles (Helen) Johnson of Lexington, SC, Mary (Brad) Carter of Jonesboro, GA and Gerald L. (Linda) Johnson, Sr. of Goose Creek; sister: Myrtis Polk of Summerville; grandchildren: Nancy Fabrizio, Chuck Johnson, Troy Carter, Stephen Carter, Duane Carter, Gerald Johnson, Jr., Leah Johnson, Sonya Cordray, Rick Johnson and Billy Perkins and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to her loving husband, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by a son, John Richard Johnson.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Twin Oaks Assisted Living for their loving care of Mom during her 11 year stay and would also like to thank Agape Hospice for their concern and care of Mom.
