Edie Elizabeth Carson

Edie Elizabeth Carson, 54, of North Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 17, 2012. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, August 21, 2012, in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel.

Edie was born July 29, 1958 in Charleston, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Milton A. "Mac" Carson and Florence Hughes Carson. She was the owner/operator of Carson Insurance Agency, following her father's death. Edie served on the Board of the North Charleston Arts Festival, Charleston County School Board and the Charleston County Aviation Authority. She was a 1976 graduate of North Charleston High School and received her bachelor's degree from the University of South Carolina. She enjoyed boating and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her mother, Florence Carson of Hanahan; sister, Brenda C. Howell (Jeremy); brother, Milton A. Carson, Jr.; four nieces, Lauren Carson, Christin Mims, Chelsea Sineath and Katie Sineath; three nephews, Milton A. Carson, III, Clayton C. Carson and R. Craig Sineath; and one great-niece, Chloe Carson-Norwood. Edie was preceded in death by her father and sister, Stacie M. Carson.
