SH1 Edgardo Cabiling David, USN (Ret.), 68, of Summerville, SC, widower of Elda April Gores David, entered into eternal rest Saturday, May 4, 2013. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at St. John The Beloved Catholic Church, 28 Sumter Avenue, Summerville, SC on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. Interment with military honors will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday between 7:00 and 9:00 pm at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, North Charleston.

Edgardo was born November 21, 1944 in Bataan, Philippines, son of the late Moises Cresini David and Elena Malit Cabiling David. He and his wife met and married while both were serving in the US Navy. Edgardo was retired from the US Navy as a Ship Serviceman First Class. He also retired from the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center.

He is survived by his son, Eddie G. David and wife, Jessica, of Ladson; his daughters, Tina Lee David of Charleston and Annabelle David Atkinson and husband, Russ, of Moncks Corner; granddaughters, Alexis Marie Elda Hardin and Isabella Brynne Elena Morgan; grandsons, Christopher Alan Ray Hardin and Eddie Carlton David; brothers, Angelito C. David, Romeo C. David and Orlando C. David; sister, Maria Venus David Orbino; and Nakita, the granddog. He was predeceased by two brothers, Abelardo C. David and Wilfredo C. David; and two sisters, Normita Tetangco and Flordelisa Gonzales.
