Edgar "Eddie" Louis Fyke, 76, of Ravenel, South Carolina, passed on Saturday, November 29, 2025 after battling Parkinson's with Lewy Body. His Funeral Service will be held Monday, December 8, 2025 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 10:00 am. The family will receive friends Sunday, December 7, 2025 from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel. Burial will be held privately at Beaufort National Cemetery.
He was born on November 18, 1949 in Cincinnati Ohio to late Wilson Dean and Lillian Loretta (Love) Fyke of Cincinnati Ohio.
Eddie is survived by his wife, Cheri Fyke; daughters, Lisa Fyke Knight, and Allison Fyke Crawford and granddaughters; son, Colonel Tyrone Vincent Patenaude and his wife Lindy along with granddaughters Courtney and James Kinsey and Maddie and Mason, great-granddaughter, and great-grandson and granddaughter, Mary (Katie) and James Moore and great-granddaughter, Charlotte (Charlie); daughter, Nicole Fyke and grandson, Alex and Kayla Salazar and great-granddaughters, Khloe and Kelsey Jane and great-grandson Maverick; sister, Patricia Hale of Muncie, Indiana, and Opal Smith of Withamsville, Ohio. He was predeceased by brothers, Donald Freeman, Karl Fyke and Wilson, Bert Fyke; numerous nieces, grand-nieces, nephews, grand-nephews and cousins.
Eddie was born in Cincinnati Ohio on November 18, 1949. He enlisted in the Navy at age 19 with his first duty station in Rota Spain, where he served as a radioman. during his career in the Navy. He retired in 1992 from COMNAVCOMTELCOM, PERSUPPET NAVSECSTA Washington DC.
He was awarded Sailor of the quarter and sailor of the year as well as recruiting station of the quarter as a recruiter.
He studied computer science at EKU in Richmond, Kentucky
Retiring from the Navy in 1992 he continued in a civil service career working with the IRS, the Postal Service as a carrier and clerk, and the Department of State at the Charleston Passport Center as an adjudicator where he retired in 2015.
Eddie was a member of the American Legion for 29 years. The last of which was with the St Paul's Post 145 in Hollywood South Carolina.
He was a Cincinnati Bengals, faithful fan through thick and thin and the Cincinnati Reds and especially a neighborhood kid, Pete Rose. He played baseball for a number of years in triple A and also on teams in the Navy. He was also a coach with girls softball.
