Earl Hasell Singletary, 87, of Charleston, SC entered into eternal rest Sunday, November 11, 2012 following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Singletary was born October 28, 1925 in Charleston, SC, the son of Kirby Halmon and Irene Smith Singletary. He grew up and was educated in the schools of Charleston. He was a Veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Singletary was warehouse manager of Sears Roebuck for many years and was retired from Gas Engine and Electric. He was a life-long member of Second Presbyterian Church, Charleston, SC where he served as Deacon.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Earl Hasell Singletary, Jr. He is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Ora Mae Parker Singletary; a daughter: Nancy Singletary Hoffer (Dr. Philllip Hoffer) of Bristol, TN; three grandchildren: Phillip Hoffer, Jr. (Penelope) of Johnson City, TN, Dr. Laura Hoffer (Dr. Marcel Brouwers) of Knoxville, TN and Meredith Hoffer of Johnson City, TN.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation Tuesday, November 13, 2012 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, 232 Calhoun Street, Charleston, SC and at the church Fellowship Hall, Noon until time of Service. Funeral Services will be held in Second Presbyterian Church at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2012. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens.
