Earl Wayne Bowers

Earl Wayne Bowers, 82, of Hollywood, South Carolina, husband of Brenda Sue Gordon Bowers, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, October 3, 2024. His memorial service will be held Sunday, October 13, 2024 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 2:00 pm, and a brief reception will immediately follow. Live streaming will be available through a link provided.

Earl was born September 11, 1942 in Charlotte, North Carolina, son of the late James Mayson Bowers and Sarah Staton Bowers. Wayne graduated from East Mechlenburg High school in Charlotte and Clemson University and was a member of the army reserve.

 After graduating Clemson; Earl worked in the truck leasing industry for many years, until he started his own business in 1975. After selling his business in 2000 he relocated to Charleston, South Carolina. 

Wayne was an avid golfer. He enjoyed boating, skiing, fishing, the symphony, cruises, fine dining and woodworking. 

He was a loving and caring husband and father. He is survived by his first and second wife, Brenda Bowers; son, Chris Bowers, grandson, Caleb Bowers, and nephew John Hollis.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations can be made in Earl's memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
