Dr. Dyana B. Lowndes, 78, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Thursday, May 13, 2021. Her memorial service will be held Monday, May 24, 2021 in Christ Church, 2304 N Hwy 17, Mt Pleasant, SC at 11:00 am. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel.

Dyana was born July 20, 1942 in St. George, South Carolina, daughter of Joseph Blitch and Ruby McLeod Blitch. She was a majorette at the University of South Carolina and graduated in 1963. She graduated from medical school at MUSC in 1967. She was a psychiatrist and a 50 year Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. She continued her professional education throughout her career and dedicated much of her life to her work.

She is survived by her sons, Richard C. Lowndes of Mt. Pleasant and Thomas P. Lowndes, III of Charleston; grandchild, Charlton C. Lowndes of Mt. Pleasant; and brother, Joe Blitch of Brandon, FL.
