Duncan "Dugan" McNair Swails, 92, of North Charleston, SC, passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. His service will be private. The family will receive friends Thursday, November 8, 2018, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road.

"DM" was born August 26, 1926 in Fort White, FL, son of the late Frank Morgan Swails and Gussie McNair Swails. He was a US Navy veteran of WWII, a retired conductor with CSX Railroad, loved shrimping, fishing and spending time with his family. He was especially cherished by his many friends.

He is survived by his daughter, Teri Swails King (Ted) of Johns Island, SC; son, David Michael Swails (Deborah) of Summerville, SC; four grandchildren: David Swails (Laura), Joseph Swails (Alyson), Samuel Swails (Kelly) and Jennifer King Cook (Jeff); and twelve great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sylvia V. Swails; three brothers and two sisters.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
