Duane Jerold Gemar

Duane Jerold Gemar, 83, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of the late Shirley Munn Player Gemar, died Monday, October 15, 2018. His Funeral Service will be held Thursday, October 18, 2018 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 2:00 pm. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends at the Mount Pleasant Chapel on Thursday from 1:00 pm until time of the service.

Duane was born October 8, 1935 in Fullerton, North Dakota, son of the late Rudolph Gemar and the late Helen Christine Weight Gemar. He was retired from the International Longshoremen and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and Ocean Grove United Methodist Church.

He is survived by son, Scott Player (Tonya) of Saint James City, FL; daughter-in-law, Donna Player of Awendaw, SC; one sister, Betty Jean Edwards (Ron) of Addison, IL; two brothers, Jerold Gemar (LaVerne) of Edmunds, WA and Lowell Gemar (Judy) of Fullerton, North Dakota; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Shirley, two sons, Rocky and Guyton and a sister, Barbara Joy Gemar.
