Dr. Vern Arthur Jensen, 83, of Daniel Island, South Carolina, husband of Mignonette Wallace Smith Jensen died Tuesday, May 3, 2016. A celebration of his life will be held Friday, May 6, 2016 in Seacoast Church, 750 Long Point Road, at 1:00 p.m. Interment, private. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.

Vern was born August 4, 1932 in Humboldt, Iowa, son of the late Arthur Emmanuel Jensen and the late Bertha Flesher Jensen. He completed undergraduate studies at the University of Minnesota and graduated with his doctorate from Drew University in New Jersey. He served as pastor for the Northern New Jersey Conference of the United Methodist Church for many years and as associate pastor for Seacoast Church Mt. Pleasant for 15 years.

In addition to his wife, Migsie, he is survived by his seven children, Julie Hope (Walter) of Blue Bell, PA, Rebecca Schafer, Lori Jensen, Clive Coutts, Jr. (Sue), Heather Cannestro (Jim), David Coutts (Agneta), and Steven Coutts (Denise); twenty-four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Jodi McMullen and Kathie Marsh.
