Dr. Charles J. Geilfuss, Jr.

Dr. Charles Joseph Geilfuss, Jr., of Mt. Pleasant, SC entered into eternal rest on the morning of October 31, 2018. Preceded in death by Mildred Moore Geilfuss, his loving wife of 53 years. The relatives and friends of Charles Joseph Geilfuss are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, November 5, 2018 in Christ Our King Catholic Church, 1149 Russell Drive at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Road. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 4, 2018 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL from 5:00 until 7:00 pm.

Dr. Geilfuss was born July 20, 1928, in Charleston, SC, son of the late Charles Joseph Geilfuss Sr. and the late Marguerite Westbury Geilfuss. He graduated Charleston High School, The Citadel and Medical University of SC School of Medicine. He was a Radiologist who worked at Medical University and Roper Hospital, retiring in 1997.

He is survived by his children, Dr. Charles J. Geilfuss, III (Debbie), of Charleston, SC, Gemma Grady of Mount Pleasant, SC, and Justin Petersen of Madison, AL; and six grandchildren, Carl, Anna and Jensy Geilfuss; Lindsay (fiancé Steven Workman) and Jesse Grady; and Alexandra Petersen; his beloved sister, Joan Geilfuss Mills of Mount Pleasant, SC.
