Dr. Arthur Spielvogel, 90 of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina formally of Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts and Ridgewood, New Jersey passed away peacefully on January 30, 2025 in Franke at Seaside, Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. 

Art is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sandra Spielvogel; his two sons, Will Spielvogel (Lauren) of Sullivan’s Island, SC, and Kenneth Spielvogel of Los Angeles, CA. Art also leaves a legacy of five grandchildren, Carl Spielvogel (Juli), Andrew Spielvogel (Jess), Elisabeth Spielvogel, Carolyn Spielvogel, Davis Spielvogel; and great grandson, Calvin Spielvogel. 

Art was born May 17, 1934 in Newark, New Jersey, beloved son to Louis and Loretta Spielvogel and brother to Bernice Rotberg. He graduated Weequahic High School and maintained a lifelong group of friends nicknamed the Seabees. He graduated from Lafayette University early in three years with honors where he played lacrosse and was a key member of his beer relay team in his fraternity. Art went on to graduate first in his class at Hahnemann Medical School in Philadelphia, where he met his wife, Sandra. Art served in the United States Navy in Pensacola, Florida as a physician during the Korea War and later became an academic physician and private practice physician, specializing in hematology and oncology. He was a passionate teacher and researcher of hematologic disease and cancer. He made major contributions to his field. Art and Sandra lived a remarkable life, living life to the fullest working hard and playing hard. Art loved to sail and ski and travel the world with his wife Sandra. His amazing humor, kindheartedness and passion for life will be sorely missed.
