Doyne Lee Bell, 79, of North Charleston, SC, husband of Barbara J. Bell died Friday, June 13, 2014. His funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 17 2014 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road, North Charleston, SC 29406 (time to be announced) followed by burial. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 pm to 8:00pm.
Mr. Bell was born September 13, 1934 in Missouri, one of nine children of the late James Elzie Bell and the late Edna Mae Bell. He was an entrepreneur with multiple business interests including an automobile dealership, tire store and property sales. He enjoyed classic cars and was a catch and release fisherman. He was a former Mason and an avid cat lover.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara J. Bell; daughter, Eileen Harris of Charlotte, NC; sons, Ron Bell of CA and Lowell Harris of Charlotte, NC; daughters, Leigh Anne Panek and her husband Frank Panek Jr. of Summerville, SC, Cheryl Tamsberg and her husband Rick Tamsberg of Charleston, Kathy Bell Stewart and her husband Dale Stewart of Gallitan, TN; two brothers, Stanley Bell of Carnation, WA, and Olen Bell and his wife Judy of IL; nine grandchildren, Holly Hutchinson and her husband Daniel, Joey Panek, Joshua Panek, Brandon Tamsberg, Justin Tamsberg, Colin Stewart, Jessica Stewart, Thomas Stewart, Jonah Stewart; two great-grandchildren, Kaydence Panek, Nathan Hutchinson, and his cat Smokey Bear.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Petfinder Foundation, 4729 East Sunrise Drive, Suite 119, Tucson, AZ 85718.
