Douglas Winford McMillan

Douglas Winford McMillan, 79, of North Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, April 24, 2022. A Graveside Service will be held Sunday, May 1, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Carolina Memorial Park, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel.

Douglas was born November 21, 1942, in Hartsville, South Carolina, son of the late Obed McMillan and Mabel Baltzegar McMillan. He received an electronics degree from a trade school in Columbia and was a lifetime lover of music. Douglas enjoyed playing the bass guitar in a rock and roll band during the 70s, and enjoyed history and watching old TV Westerns. He was a former member of Charleston United Methodist Church.  Douglas loved being with his family, and making special trips to Hartsville and Bishopville, SC to see his grandparents and cousins and enjoy some fishing. 

He is survived by his brother, Robert "Dale" McMillan, and wife Pamela of Ravenel, SC; his sister, Marilyn Zeigler and husband Harry of Charleston, SC; three nephews, Jason McMillan, Jamey McMillan, and Ty Zeigler; two great-nephews, and three great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Betsy Ross McMillan.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Charleston Mental Health Center, 2100 Charlie Hall Blvd, Charleston, SC 29414.
