Dottie Daniels Sewell

Dottie Daniels Sewell, 82, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of the late Harvey Winston Sewell, entered into eternal rest Saturday, August 13, 2022. A private funeral service will be held at the graveside, with interment in Johns Island Presbyterian Churchyard, 2550 Bohicket Road. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel.

Dottie was born February 27, 1940 in Columbia, South Carolina, daughter of the late Bennie Branham Daniels and Allie Thomas Daniels. She retired as Vice President of Human Resources at MeadWestvaco after a distinguished career rising through the ranks from the initial position of executive secretary. Although she experienced great success in her work, love of her family brought her the greatest joy. She also enjoyed travel during her retirement. Dottie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Greenwood, South Carolina and a former member of Johns Island Presbyterian Church. 

She is survived by a daughter, Susan Sewell Frickman; a son, H. Winston Sewell, Jr. (Laura); five grandchildren, Lindsay Funderburk Johnson (Heath), Cameron Funderburk Elliott (Austin), Harrison Hughes Frickman, Benjamin Branham Sewell, and Jonathan Whitfield Sewell (Mary); and a great-grandchild, Jackson Whitfield Sewell. In addition to her loving husband, Dottie was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Jay Frickman, and her five siblings.
