Dorris Mae Myers

Dorris Mae Myers, 89, of North Charleston, SC, a retired lunchroom worker for the Charleston County School System, died January 8, 2014 at 1:20 am at Trident Regional Medical Center. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014, at 11:00 am at Cokesbury United Methodist Church, 4990 Dorchester Road, North Charleston, SC 29418. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in North Charleston, SC. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTH AREA CHAPEL, 2119 Dorchester Road, North Charleston, SC 29405.

The family will receive friends at Cokesbury United Methodist Church from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, January 10, 2014. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Mrs. Myers was born March 15, 1924 in Hartford, Connecticut; a daughter of the late Charles W. Hitchcock and Hattie H. Thomas. She was a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church.

Surviving is her husband of 68 years, Eugene W. Myers; three sons: Thomas E. Myers and his wife, Charlotte, of North Charleston, Ronald W. Myers and his wife, Diane, of North Charleston and Donald H. Myers of Patuxent River, MD. She also has five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
